Simple and Healthy Go-To Recipe of Protein and Healthy Omega-3s: Season Products Canned Fish

This recipe should be a go-to in any fit person’s kitchen and cooking repertoire. My favorite canned fish is made by Season Products. I buy their Mackerels in a 12-pack because they are so damn good.

Check out this super simple recipe/technique that includes some mustard, mackerels and just about anything else you want to add–sour cream, ketchup, hot sauce, etc.

1. Open and drain Mackerels (or any canned fish) and place in bowl

3. Mash with fork and it’s ready to eat!


My Favorite Healthy Snack: Canned Fish!

I’ve become obsessed with canned fish after stumbling on this product: Season Skinless & Boneless Mackerels in Water, No Salt Added, 4.375-Ounce Tins (Pack of 12).

I’ve tried many brands of sardines and canned fish over the years, but this one takes the cake hands down as the best tasting product I’ve ever tried. I try to eat a pack a day at least to get all those yummy omega-3s into my system (as well as all the other amazing nutrition). I highly recommend checking out Season Brand’s full line of products.

What is Decision Fatigue

Great study on the factors that determined the judicial rulings for criminals up for parole. Researchers found that as the day went on, the percentage of paroles granted dropped drastically. At the beginning of the day, a judge was more likely to give a favorable ruling close to 65 percent of the time. As the day wore on and the judge had to make more and more decisions, the likelihood of getting a favorable ruling dropped the longer the day went on.

This study is famous for multiple reasons, one of which is the theory that we humans have what’s called “Decision fatigue” or the concept that we only have so much decision “energy” for the day and the more we exhaust that energy store without rest the more likely we are to be unable to make objectively good decisions.

This concept applies to not just the criminal system but your life as well. As your day goes on, you are using up your energy to make all kinds of decisions. The more your day lags on and you use up this energy, the more likely you are to succumb to doing things that you normally wouldn’t have.

The next time you work a long day of work and you “just don’t care” what you eat for dinner, you’ll know exactly what is happening.

Kale Chips Recipe

Oven-Dried Kale Chips Recipe

Need: Kale, Sea Salt, MCT Oil or Olive Oil


  1. Preheat oven to 350
  2. remove leaves from stems
  3. Drizzle with oil (I use MCT oil)
  4. Bake until edges brown, 10-15 minutes
  5. Season with sea salt
  6. Enjoy
